Do you ever hear news stories of UFO sightings and yearn to experience the awe yourself? Would you like to wonder in mysterious beaming lights from unknown crafts above? Well, there’s a good chance you will be able to if you travel to certain locations within the United States and even around the world.
According to the data from National UFO Reporting Center and the U.S. Census, the states with the most UFO sightings per capita are Washington, Montana, Vermont, Alaska, and Maine. Washington State, which topped the list, reported 78 sightings per 100,000 people, which in comparison to other states is astronomically high. The reports of the sightings in some states included three red lights in a huge triangle shape flying low in the sky in California, 15 strange oval lights above the clouds in Florida, and in Oregon, there were reports of a “fast-moving cigar-shaped high altitude object with no wings.”
One of the most infamous spots in the United States known for its association to aliens and extraterrestrial life is Area 51 in Nevada. This site reportedly contains classified documents about the U.S. involvement and possible knowledge of aliens. Additionally, the area is speculated to contain manufacturing sites for alien technology. This restricted area draws in tourists due to its mystery and secrecy.
How does a vacation to South America sound? According to reports, Chile is the country with the highest number of reported UFO sightings. “Due to its low humidity, high altitude ridges, and clear skies with little pollution,” Chile has become a hot-spot for these sightings. The nation has even launched the Committee for Studies of Anomalous Aerial Phenomena (CEFAA), which tries to understand, analyze, and interpret UAPs (Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon) under the authority of the Chilean Air Force.
The most famous and unofficial UFO sighting locations is San Clemente, Chile. Here, there are reports of one UFO sighting per week! The area became such a large tourist spot that a 19-mile long trail was created in 2008 that covers many of the reported spots of these viewings.
However, Chile is not the only location known for its many aerial viewings. Large disc-shaped objects have been reported over the fields of Wiltshire, England. The site is almost a mile from the ever so mysterious Stonehenge, adding to the speculation regarding the area. Extraterrestrial life supporters say aliens were the creators of the Stonehenge, leaving the site as a marker for their voyages. Additional locations where sightings are almost guaranteed include Wycliffe Well, Australia, and M Triangle, Russia.
An interactive map on ArcGIS.com shows detailed locations of reported UFO sightings, possible alien abductions, and other events surrounding extraterrestrial interactions. This map shows the documented specific locations of the viewings, what they looked like, and the date on which they were seen.
Where will you be headed on your next vacation? Will it be to a white sandy beach, or to the Atacama Desert in Chile in search of UFOs? Will you be the next dot added to the map?
